JAZZ & MODERN THEATRE DANCE SYLLABUS
Childrens' Grades: Pre-Primary to Grade 4

Set to popular music which encompasses various styles such as Blues, Jazz, and Musical Theatre. Cds available from Sales Department. Each grade commences with a warm-up which develops in length and difficulty in subsequent grades. Children begin to learn the feel of jazz lines with structured arm exercises in their simplest form at Grade 1. From Grade 2 the feeling of expansion and resistance in the arm and body lines is further developed. By Grade 3 the style of Musical Theatre is introduced in the 'All that Jazz' dance sequence. Grade 4 brings in lyrical barre work to give strength and flow. Jazz style is strengthened.

Vocational Grades: Intermediate Foundation to Advanced

JAZZ TESTS Levels 1 to 4

Similar to the grade work but with a stronger jazz bias. Shorter in length than the grades.
